The New Mercedes-Benz CLA Coupe

The new Mercedes-Benz CLA Coupe will celebrate its world premiere at the Consumer Electronics Show in January 2019. The highly intelligent vehicle features MBUX Interior Assistant, recognizing operational demands through gestures and using augmented reality for Navigation and indirect voice commands. Through MBUX, Mercedes-Benz has propelled to the next level of automotive intelligence. This new edition of the CLA has been developed to be more emotional and sportier than its predecessor, setting a new benchmark for the entire class.

The four-door coupe impresses with perfect proportions mirroring the first sketch and setting a new standard in the design DNA, potentially becoming a modern design icon. The long, stretched entry line above the windows and frameless door combine to give the CLA Coupe a sporty and elegant appeal.

All elements in the interior are arranged according to the design theme of youthful avant-garde merged with high tech. The widescreen display is free-standing with the lower sections being visually separated from the main body of the instrument cluster by a “trench,” appearing to float.

The new CLA features the sportiest driving characteristics of all models in the new generation of Mercedes-Benz Compacts. Featuring intelligent drive functions from the S-Class, the CLA is able to drive semi-autonomously in certain situations. Improved camera and radar systems allow it to see up to 1,640 feet ahead, and Active Distance Assist DISTRONIC® enables the vehicle to provide route-based support to the driver in numerous situations.

The CLA, which has been a key contribution to the image change of the Mercedes-Benz brand, has been vital for gaining and retaining new customers. On average, CLA customers are among the youngest in the Mercedes portfolio, and more than two thirds of CLA buyers in the U.S have come from competitors. The new CLA will go on sale in the U.S by late 2019.
