MB&F Dedicates The Legacy Machine FlyingT To Women

MB&F is no stranger to making unexpected and whimsical timepiece creations (or as the brand likes to like to call them, horological machines). Although young by watchmaking standards, the 14-year old company boasts an impressive archive of mechanical marvels shaped like robots, sea creatures, spaceships, and more. Now, in perhaps their most surprising move yet, MB&F releases its first ladies’ timepiece—and it is a beauty! What we have here is the Legacy Machine FlyingT, available in three different variations.

MB&F Legacy Machine FlyingT For Ladies

MB&F Legacy Machine FlyingT For Ladies

To create the first MB&F ladies’ watch, Maximilian Büsser drew inspiration from the women in his life, particularly his mother. He sought to combine elegance and vitality and the Legacy Machine FlyingT gets this sentiment just right.

The highly convex sapphire crystal dome gracefully curves above the case, while the oscillating flying tourbillon raised high above dial center lends continuous energy to the face of the watch. For added sparkle, a single large diamond moves in harmony with the rotating tourbillon cage below it. Reading the time on the LM FlyingT watch is a personal affair as the small subdial with a pair of blued serpentine hands is tilted in a way that only the wearer can see it.

Donning a 38.5 mm case in 18k white gold, the Legacy Machine FlyingT is perfectly proportional for regular wear—a trait that is not always prioritized with hyper-creative wristwatches. MB&F made three versions of the Legacy Machine FlyingT. The first features a black lacquer dial plate housed in a case set with brilliant-cut diamonds; the second includes a dial plate and case fully set with brilliant-cut diamonds; the third has a dial plate and case both fully set with baguette-cut diamonds. There are also two crowns on the watches where the left is for winding and the right is for time-setting.

Legacy Machine FlyingT To Women

Turn the Legacy Machine FlyingT around and you’ll spot a stunning three-dimensional red gold sun-shaped rotor with sculpted rays spread across the caseback. The automatic flying tourbillon movement includes 280 components and beats at a rate of 18,000 bph (2.5 Hz). What’s more, the movement offers a 100-hour power reserve—one of the highest within MB&F’s current collection.

It is clear that MB&F’s first attempt at making a women’s watch is a success thanks in large part to how much thought the man at the helm of the company put into the design and execution of the Legacy Machine FlyingT.

“The last thing I wanted to do was to take a masculine timepiece, resize it, put a different color on it and call it a ladies’ watch.” ~ Maximilian Büsser
