Five Stunning New Fall Releases By Panerai
As the days are getting shorter Panerai is already doing its bit in lifting the mood by releasing no less than five new models! The first one is the Luminor 8 Days which comes in three different flavors. As the name already indicates do all three feature the iconic, cushion-shaped Luminor-case with its signature crown protector.
All three feature a black sandwich dial with beige Super-LumiNova and are water resistant up to 30 bar/ 300 meters. The difference between them can be found in materials and movements. PAM00797 and PAM00795 are both powered by manual wind caliber P.5002, which is crafted in the manufacture of Panerai, and which can be admired through the sapphire crystal in the case back. The major difference between them is that PAM00795 is crafted from stainless steel and PAM00797 from Grade 5 titanium, which makes it about 40% lighter than its steel sibling.
PAM00796, the third Luminor 8 Days Panerai adds to its collection, is also crafted from stainless steel but has the crown on the left side of its case. It is fitted with manual wind caliber P.5001, which only differs from caliber P.5002 in terms of the location of the crown and the sub-second dial and lacks the power reserve indicator on the dial. All three the watches come on a leather strap, with an additional rubber strap included as well as a screwdriver to swap them out.
The prices are competitive, especially when you take into account the manufacture movement and the very generous power reserve, as well as the overall finish of the watches. The stainless steel Luminor 8 Days (PAM00795) has a retail price of $6.700,-, while the left-hand version (PAM00796) costs an additional $200,-. The titanium version (PAM00797) will set you back $7.100,-
The Luminor 8 Days is not the only news that Panerai has in store, because they also add two special edition to their line-up. This Fall Panerai also treats us on the Radiomir 1940 3 Days Acciaio. This 47-millimeter large watch will especially command attention due to its original dial which is inspired on a clock that was on display at Orologeria Svizzera, the original store of Panerai in Florence, Italy.
The dial, complemented by very characteristic hands, is available in black or ivory and fitted with a manual wind movement. This Caliber P.3000 is also crafted in the manufacture of Panerai and can be admired through the sapphire crystal case back of the watch. Thanks to two mainspring barrels it has a power reserve of three days. The glass at the front of the Radiomir 1940 3 Days Acciaio is made of domed plexiglass to stay in line with the vintage look and feel of the watch. The Radiomir 1940 3 Days Acciaio retails for $9.200,- with either color dial.
