Lewis Hamilton Makes Surprise Appearance at IWC Exhibition

F1 superstar Lewis Hamilton made a surprise appearance at the IWC Schaffhausen pop-up exhibition in the Selfridges Wonder Room in London, England. Hamilton, who is IWC’s new brand ambassador, was joined by Mercedes AMG Petronas Team Principal Ross Brawn at the launch of the two-week exhibition. The launch was attended by approximately 100 members of the UK press, who watched as Hamilton and Brawn tried out the Mercedes AMG Petronas Formula One™ simulator car in a virtual wind tunnel. Audemars Piguet and LeBron James Celebrate Collaboration

The 600 piece limited edition Royal Oak Chronograph LeBron James got an incredible unveiling in Miami, Florida. Four-time NBA MVP LeBron James joined Audemars Piguet CEO Francois-Henry Bennahmias at a party at the Herzog & de Meuron-designed 1111 Lincoln Road. Guests included Kourtney Kardashian & Scott Disick, Michael Strahan & Nicole Murphy, NBC Today Show’s Jill Martin, the Fugees’ Pras Michel, Tinie Tempah and Flo Rida. David Beckham Helps Breitling Launch London Flagship

Global ambassadors David Beckham and John Travolta helped Breitling celebrate the opening of the manufacture’s new boutique in London, England. Beckham and Travolta brought traffic to a standstill in front of the Bond Street boutique, which is Breitling’s first UK flagship. After a ribbon-cutting ceremony (Travolta did the honor), Breitling owner Theodore Schneider showed the duo around the 2,700 square foot boutique, which will house the manufacture’s collections, limited editions and a watchmaker’s workshop. Best of OnlyWatch 2013

Results are in from this year’s OnlyWatch auction. This September at the Hôtel hermitage in Monaco, thirty-three watch brands each presented a unique timepiece to go under the hammer in support of research for Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy. The event is especially attractive to big collectors as all of the pieces are part of a limited edition of…one. However, regular watch lovers could also join in as the price tags weren’t always sky high, and some brands presented a nice opportunity to get a unique piece for under $30,000. Pièce Unique: Vacheron Constantin Kalla Haute Couture à Pampilles

This haute couture creation is an homage to the 19th century tradition of “secret” watches. Approximately 28.9 carats of brilliant, flame and princess cut diamonds adorn what appears to be a dainty white gold bracelet. However, beneath a paved cover the hours and minutes are revealed on a dial entirely paved with a glittering bed of brilliant-cut diamonds.
