It was out of this passion that, last year, Semilof and business partner Kamal Hotchandani launched luxury timepiece website Haute Time. The two curate the site, hand-selecting all content that goes live. French Film Idol Alain Delon Auctions Watch Collection For $590,300

Chinese buyers proved their economic clout in Paris Thursday at an auction of watches owned by French actor and film idol Alain Delon. Auction house Cornette de Saint-Cyr said that the sale brought in $590,300 as collectors and fans bid in excitement and Chinese buyers bid via phone. Delon was not present for the sale of 100 watches he had collected for more than 50 years. His collection included top brands like Rolex, Cartier, Blancpain, Audemars-Piguet, Vacheron Constantin and Breitlin. Rolex-Sponsored “DeepSea Challenge” Dives To Lowest Point On Earth

The DeepSea Challenge, the joint scientific expedition sponsored by Hollywood director James Cameron, National Geographic and Rolex, made the first-ever successful dive  27,119 feet into the Mariana Trench, the lowest point in the planet, off the coast of Australia and Papua New Guinea on March 26. Now the expedition shifts to the next phase of scientific analysis, long-term planning and solicitation of support support for the expedition today.
