Audemars Piguet Creates Special Royal Oak Offshore Chronograph For Indonesia
Fueling the appetite for luxury timepieces amongst South East Asia collectors of the brand, the latest addition to the collection of Audemars Piguet “Prides” is dedicated to Indonesia, the world’s fourth most populated country. The Royal Oak Offshore Chronograph Pride of Indonesia was revealed, only last month. An iconic symbol is engraved on the watch case back of every Audemars Piguet “Pride Limited editions”, representative of the country’s heritage. Earlier prides include the Pride of Argentina, Pride of Russia, Pride of China with the Great Wall of China engraving, Pride of Mexico and the last Pride of Thailand created in 2013.
“For more than a decade, Audemars Piguet has gained massive support from its wonderful Indonesian collectors,” says Antonio Seward, Audemars Piguet’s General Manager of Southeast Asia. “We are excited to create this exclusive timepiece in honour of this beautiful country.” An 18-carat pink gold caseback is engraved with the Indonesian eagle, Garuda Pancasila. On the outside of the circle of which National symbol of Indonesia is contained, the words ‘Royal Oak Offshore’ and ‘Pride of Indonesia’ are inscribed.
The anthracite colored and satin finished dial has counters and an inner bezel which are pink gold-toned. Luminescent-coated hands complement the Arabic numerals, both in pink gold. Water-resistant to 100 meters, the titanium case is uniquely combined with rose gold features on the dial and the traditional design on the caseback for a heritage, yet futuristic look.
To contain the in-house automatic movement, calibre 3126/3840, which has a power reserve of 50 hours, Audemars Piguet chose the iconic Royal Oak Offshore case design. The latest timepiece in the brand’s Pride Limited Edition is truly something to wear with Pride for Indonesians. To match the dial, an anthracite hand-stitched ‘large square scale’ alligator strap fitted with a titanium pin buckle and rose gold pin echoes luxurious comfort.
With Asian watch connoisseurs increasingly on the look out for more sophisticated pieces, the Royal Oak Offshore Chronograph Pride of Indonesia provides a valuable addition to the market, in a limited edition of 100 pieces. The watch retails at 53,400 Singapore Dollars and is available at the Swiss watchmakers boutiques in Jakarta and Singapore.
