Radiomir Venti PAM2020: A Paramount Tribute
This year marks the two-decade milestone of a global collector community of Panerai enthusiasts. Calling themselves as Paneristi, they even have a dedicated website Paneristi.com. Active watch collectors of this community have also been the brand’s critics at times – but the love has been consistent. To commemorate the group’s commitment, Panerai has launched a special limited edition watch – Radiomir Venti PAM2020 – 45 mm.
A joint project involving close collaboration between the Laboratorio di Idee, Panerai’s technical and creative team, and the Paneristi, has resulted into the creation of the Radiomir Venti PAM2020 – 45 mm. Both timepiece and tribute celebrate a group of loyal connoisseurs and admirers.
Taking a trip down memory lane, this edition takes cues from the first Radiomir dating to the 1930s incorporating multiple vintage elements. The oversized dial – an evident feature of the brand’s DNA, isn’t overwhelming due to the absence of the traditional lugs. The word ‘Venti’ (Twenty in Italian) is engraved between the lugs at 6 o’clock. The beige strap in calfskin suede with tone-on-tone stitching adorns a hot-stamped “OP” logo and a sewn-in trapezoidal pin buckle in steel.
Showcasing true vintage style, it features an AISI 316L steel case with a weathered aged patina effect, while the bezel is in matte steel finish and the crown retains its classic diamond shape. The watch is water-resistant up to about 100 meters. Signature elements of the new model include the use of sword-shaped gold colour hands, a typical element of the original models. The beige Super-LumiNovaTM and a brown sandwich sunray-brushed dial with a finish that simulates the brand’s earliest models.
Every Radiomir Venti PAM2020 comes with “20th Anniversary PANERISTI.COM” engraving on the case back. However, “PANERISTI.COM 2000-2020” personalization engraved at 6 o’clock isn’t our favourite detail but that’s just personal choice.
With only 1020 pieces of the Paneristi PAM 02020, every piece is powered by a hand-wound movement, the Calibre p.6000 – a movement entirely conceived, designed and developed by the Panerai Manufacture in Neuchâtel. Calibre P.6000 is equipped with a device that stops the balance wheel when the crown is pulled out. A 72-hour power reserve provided by its single barrel, 3 Hz frequency is stabilised by the bridge with dual supports giving it a powerful heart and robust body.
The Panerai Radiomir Venti PAM02020 for the 20th anniversary of Paneristi.com is priced at EUR 6,500. More details on their official website.
