Hublot Launches Million-Dollar Diamond-Encrusted Big Bang With Super High-End Croc Leather Jacket
High fashion and haute horlogerie have of course, always been closely related, one always complementing and elevating the other. It is therefore, no surprise that one of the most innovative luxury watch brands to date, Hublot, has launched an incredible, diamond-encrusted Big Bang Tourbillon Croco High Jewellery, combined with a crocodile leather jacket, which happens to also be bullet-resistant.
“For Hublot, this is a demonstration of how far we can go in terms of exclusivity,” began Ricardo Guadalupe, CEO of Hublot. “A cutting-edge jacket, both in terms of fashion and technology, from our partners Karmaloog, a watch which reflects the immense capabilities of our watchmakers and skills of our master craftsmen, for a spectacular—and unique—result.”
Karmaloog—a brand founded by Racho Bajadjan and Nezir Yozgat—specializes in creating super high-end ready-to-wear pieces and accessories, using only the most luxurious materials with the finest craftsmanship. Each of the leathers used are hand-picked from around the world, while respecting international animal protection laws. The interior of the Hublot X Karmaloog jacket is lined with a high-tech material known as carbon aramid. Though lightweight, several layers of the finely woven carbon nanotube fabric absorbs high impact hits, even from high-powered projectiles. The lining is then topped with screen-printed silk with the Hublot logo pattern. The customizable zips and interchangeable sliders are crafted from 18 carat white gold, while the main slider is also paved with 39 diamonds.
One of the most unique features of the jacket is its interior secret pocket, which has four notches for two watch straps, allowing for the Big Bang watch face to be attached directly to the sleeve cuff, with Hublot’s patented “One Click” device. This way, the wearer can showcase both the impressive jacket and the watch, simultaneously, and with just one click, remove the watch from the jacket to wear it directly on the wrist.
As we’d expect from Hublot, the Big Bang Tourbillon Croco High Jewellery itself is nothing short of stunning. The 380 baguette diamonds, which cover the clasp, dial and the case, mimic the look of crocodile scales. The diamonds on the dial alone total 4.3 carats (102 baguette diamonds in total), while the crocodile strap clasp has 1.6 carats of diamonds (44 baguette diamonds in total). Inside, the self-winding watch houses the calibre HUB6016 movement, within a 45 mm case, set with yet another 234 baguette diamonds, totaling 7.6 carats. Additionally, it has an impressive 115 hour power reserve.
Not one detail is overlooked in this Hublot X Karmaloog collaboration. The jacket and watch are delivered in a black, leather bag, with an interior briefcase to hold the watch and the nine zips. A second small box, with the exact dimensions of the jacket’s secret pocket, also hold and hide away the watch for safekeeping. And for just a cool, $1 million, this exclusive combination could be yours.
