Watches & Wonders Welcomes The World Digitally
Usually, we would be in Geneva right now, visiting Watches & Wonders, the former SIHH. Unfortunately, very little is normal these days. The COVID-19 pandemic is making its marks around the world, and for the watch world, it meant that many prestigious, international events, had to be canceled. As it sometimes feels that the world has come to a standstill, it is also important that some things do continue, and we have to be creative about how to achieve this. The Foundation de la Haute Horlogerie, which organizes Watches & Wonders, therefore took the decision to take the show into the digital space and has created in record time a platform on which all the thirty exhibiting brands can present their latest products.
The platform will not only serve the press but also be very important for retailers. They use the fair to get personally acquainted with the new watches of the brands that they carry, on which they base their orders. This makes it also for the participating brands essential to make this connection and to give the retailers all the details they need. The website is also open to the public, and with that, it allows Watches & Wonders to connect directly with the watch collectors and connoisseurs around the world. This has, for a long time, been a wish of many of the participating brands, and one for which the fair also had made plans for the 2020 edition. With these steps, Watches & Wonders brings the latest creations of some of the best brands in the world to the world, even in these challenging times.
The digital platform of Watches & Wonders 2020 is now live and can be found at watchesandwonders.com. In the upcoming days, Haute Time will present, as you are expected from us, more in-depth reviews of many of the novelties of the fair.
