Watch News: This Week’s Rewind

The World Cup, and a new ladies’ watch from Girard-Perregaux: Here are the highlights from another busy week in the watchmaking industry:

Girard-Perregaux updated the very popular Vintage 1945 Lady, by introducing a new dial decorated with a row of white diamonds and Arabic numerals. It houses the manufacture mechanical Caliber GP02700 which powers hour, minute, and date functions. Entirely designed in-house, it is the brand’s smallest self-winding caliber, specially designed to drive ladies’ watches. For more, please visit Girard-Perregaux.

This month saw Hublot take over the world, or at least, the world cup. By now, you’ll know the Swiss manufacture is the Official Timekeeper of the 2014 Brazil World Cup, and it celebrated that partnership with the Big Bang Unico FIFA World Cup Official Watch. But this week, Hublot surprised some of its closest friends with another special occasion timepiece, a quartz composite watch, similar to its Atelier watch. Haute Time was very lucky to get its hands on one of these very unique watches, seen below on the wrist of co-founder Seth Semilof. For more, please visit Hublot.
