Vacheron Constantin Previews New Collections At The Salon des Grandes Complications In Dubai
Vacheron Constantin, one of the world’s most celebrated watchmakers, displayed their newest timepieces at this year’s Salon des Grandes Complications in Dubai. Held in the Dubai International Financial Centre from November 16th to the 19th, the Salon des Grandes Complications is the premiere luxury watchmaking event in the Middle East and serves as common ground for watch collectors, enthusiasts and creators. The event showcases fantastic creations from both historic manufacturers and smaller watchmakers bristiling with creative energy and independent spirit. For Vacheron Constantin, their biggest showpiece at this year’s event was the prototype of the Metiers d’Art Arca.
In celebration of the manufacturer’s 260th anniversary, Vacheron Constantin is expanding its Métiers d’Art collection with a collection of 12 unique crystal table clocks resembling luminous arches that show the brands renowned prowess for both haute horlogerie and artistic crafts. The new Vacheron Constantin movement inside the clocks, Caliber 9260, is comprised of a constant-force mechanism and a 30-day power reserve. The constant-force mechanism gives the clock a remarkable rating precision that corresponds to less than a one-minute deviation per week.
Also on display at the Salon des Grandes Complications were the seven first pieces in the Harmony collection. The pieces are a mix of contemporary styling and vintage inspiration, featuring a new cushion shape and design that references the brand’s first wristwatch chronographs introduced in 1928. The watches in the Harmony collection sport a range of new calibres.
