Vacheron Constantin Opens Flagship Boutique In The Heart Of New York City
Exciting times for Vacheron Constantin, as the brand opens a brand new flagship boutique in the heart of New York City. Located at 28 East 57th Street, the two-story boutique serves multiple purposes. It is not only a point of sale but also a place to submerge oneself in the 265-year-old history of the brand. For this, Vacheron Constantin has dedicated a significant amount of the 4,500 square feet of floor space. There is an exhibition area that changes from time to time, displaying unique pieces from the brand’s own historic collection based in Geneva.
Vacheron Constantin is also utilizing their new flagship boutique to celebrate and highlight the unique relationship with the United States in general, and New York City especially. This started already in 1832 when the brand had its first agent in New York City. The first exhibition in the flagship boutique that Vacheron Constantin organized is also dedicated to this special connection. It shows, among others, a series of pocket watches made for the U.S. Corps of Engineers during WWI, another pocket watch sold in 1918 to James Ward Packard, as well as the diamond-studded Lord Kalla watch that belonged to Elizabeth Taylor. A special place in the exhibition is for the “American 1921,” Vacheron Constantin’s iconic cushion-shaped watch made specifically for the North-American market, and which celebrates its 100th anniversary this year. Even the unique re-creation of the original “American 1921” will be present for the occasion.
But the boutique has more to offer. Next to very comfortable (VIP) lounges, is there also a watchmaker present on site. A special area allows clients to create the strap of their dreams, perfectly matching their personal style or even a specific outfit. Unique is also that the complete collection of Vacheron Constantin is present and available for purchase in the flagship boutique. This includes the first permanent display of “Les Collectionneurs,” a special program by Vacheron Constantin in which they offer a selection of their vintage watches, fully serviced and with the same warranty as their new timepieces. This makes the Vacheron Constantin flagship boutique a place to visit for any watch enthusiast and a perfect excuse to visit the Big Apple soon.
