The Blancpain Ocean Commitment Exhibition Heads to Las Vegas
As part of their continued efforts to protect and preserve the world’s oceans, luxury watchmaker Blancpain is debuting their Ocean Commitment Exhibition at the Forum Shops at Caesars Palace in Las Vegas. At the exhibition, visitors will get to comb the depths of the underwater universe and learn about the very real and tangible benefits that have been achieved by organizations supported by Blancpain.
Chief among Blancpain’s beneficiaries have been National Geographic’s Pristine Seas Expeditions and the Gombessa Projects of Laurent Ballesta. More than ten Pristine Seas expeditions have been undertaken with Blancpain’s support. The governmental decisions to protect more than 3.0 million square kilometers of ocean, almost equal to the size of the Mediterranean Sea, have followed upon the efforts of the Pristine Seas.
The exhibition, which has already made stops in China, Hong Kong, Sydney, Tokyo and Moscow, invites visitors to enter through a portal that echoes the design of a Fifty Fathoms bezel. Once inside, the exhibit is split into four zones (History, Science, Exploration and Art) that each illustrate a defining aspect of the Blancpain Ocean Commitment. The history section highlights the innovation of the Fifty Fathoms and the achievments of the pioneers of underwater exploration. The Science and Environment section presents the work of National Geographic’s Pristine Seas Expeditions and Laurent Ballesta’s Gombessa projects, including special film clips documenting both of their works. Other environmental initiatives supported by Blancpain are also included in this zone. Lastly, the art section features a series of breathtaking images from the world’s premiere underwater photographers.
The Blancpain Ocean Commitment Exhibition will be located directly in front of the Blancpain Boutique at The Forum Shops at Caesars Palace in Las Vegas. The exhibition will be open to the public from January 26, 2016 until February 8, 2016.
