Sensational Warm Up For SIHH 2019
When 2019 has barely started, SIHH is scheduled to open its doors. From January 14th to 18th the exhibiting brands will delight us with their most mesmerizing new creations. Traditionally many of those brands also launch a few new watches before the show. While impressive, they usually keep the real fireworks until the fair itself. Given the very high level of the watches that they have already introduced, 2019 is bound to going to be an amazing year in watches!
Cartier Privé Tonneau Time-Only and Skeleton Dual Time
With Cartier Privé does La Maison have once again a collection in which it highlights its historic designs. First up is the Tonneau, which Cartier presents in two versions. The time-only is a manual wind, large version of the Tonneau with a sunburst dial and applied Roman numerals. Cartier offers it in 18k pink gold, or in platinum which is limited to 100 pieces. Visually spectacular is also the Tonneau Skeleton Dual Time. With a single, manual wind movement, this watch displays two time zones simultaneously and takes superbly advantage of the tonneau shaped case. Thanks to the skeletonized dial and movement this watch has a more technical vibe, which suits it very well. Both the 18k pink gold, as well as the platinum version are limited to 100 pieces.
Vacheron Constantin Les Cabinotiers Grande Complication Phoenix
Traditionally does Vacheron Constantin only uses the term ‘Les Cabinotiers’ for their most exquisite creations, and that is also the case with this watch. No less than 15 complications are incorporate in this Grand Complication, for which they utilize not only the front of the watch but also the back. The watch is fitted with, among others, a tourbillon, perpetual calendar, minute repeater, an equation of time and even a sky chart. They don’t stop there because the case is fully engraved. It took 300 hours to get to this result. As the name of the watch already indicates is the theme of this Vacheron Constantin the Phoenix, which comes to live in deep engravings full with details.
Roger Dubuis Excalibur Huracàn Performante
Roger Dubuis is continuing its highly successful collaboration with Lamborghini with the Excalibur Huracàn Performante. For this watch, they created caliber RD630, which has a balance wheel declined at 12 degrees as well as a double mainspring barrel. It takes many design cues of the sports car from which it gets its name. The skeletonized spider case is 45 millimeter in diameter but crafted from titanium so very light. Bold yellow details give this Roger Dubuis even more character, as does the unique strap which has a rubber base with an Alcantara inlay and a Pirelli P Zero Trofeo R tire-pattern design, of course with yellow stitching! As is a tradition with Roger Dubuis is also this watch a limited edition, with only 88 pieces available.
It is unbelievable to think that these watches are just a small appetizer of things yet to come at SIHH 2019!
