Roger Dubuis Gets Ready for Middle East Celebration with The Velvet by Massaro and The Excalibur Automatic Skeleton Timepieces

With the Gulf region getting ready to celebrate a new holiday in September, Roger Dubuis Middle East is highlighting two Hallmark of Genève certified timepieces as haute gift ideas for loved ones: The Velvet by Massaro inspired by Greta Garbo for ladies, and the Excalibur Automatic Skeleton Titanium for men.

The Velvet by Massaro collection, dedicated to divas everywhere, was presented at the SIHH 2016. Knowing the power that many women confer upon their footwear, and in particular, their haute heels, the Geneva-based Manufacture got together with the Paris-based maker of glamorous custom-made shoes to bring exciting new ideas to ladies’ wrists. Limited to 88 pieces each, this collection is inspired by three “divas”: Rita Hayworth, Lana Turner and Greta Garbo. The Velvet by Massaro – Greta, like its muse, is definitely a beauty of its own.

Presented in a 36mm pink gold case, bezel and lugs, with 86 diamonds on the case and 14 on the pink gold clasp, the mysterious black lacquered dial with tone-on-tone charcoal grey Roman numerals transfers and appliques is further enhanced with exquisite dark plumage on the Feather Haute Couture strap co-designed by Massaro. This ultra-feminine stunner beats to the Manufacture self-winding calibre RD821 with functions of hours and minutes and a power reserve of 48 hours. Water resistant to 30 meters.

For men, the Excalibur Automatic Skeleton Titanium, introduced in 2015, is the first automatic skeleton created by the Manufacture, proudly displaying all the individually hand-finished faces of the 167 parts that compose the self-winding mechanical calibre RD820SQ.

The 42mm Titanium black DLC-coated case and bezel frame show off the spectacular 3D effect created by raising the architectural star-shaped “Astral Skeleton” signature and playing with the design of the micro-rotor, also skeletonized in this case creating an unusual and challenging paradox in technical terms.   The powerful look of this timepiece Reference RDDBEX0473 is completed by a black alligator leather strap with a folding clasp in black DLC titanium.

With functions of hours and minutes, the Skeleton movement oscillates at a frequency of 28,800 vph and has a power reserve of 60 hours.
