In 2003 they launched the sprung balance, which they produce in-house, and of which later on four would be used in the Quatuor RD101 to find a new way to compensate for the effect the earth gravity has on the accuracy of a mechanical movement. In 2005 Roger Dubuis launched another novelty that would mark a significant moment within the history of the brand. A caliber that combined a double tourbillon with extensive skeletonization would set the pace for new watches to come.
