RJ-Romain Jerome Unveils Skeleton Skylab Timepiece
RJ-Romain Jerome has unveiled its first skeleton timepiece. The Skylab watch, named for NASA’s first space station and celebrating the 40th anniversary of its launch, honors man’s exploration of space.
Housed in a 44mm case that evokes the space station, the Skylab features a complex five-layered skeleton. Externally, the timepieces’ paws have been enlarged to enhance this new model while the lugs have been hollowed to lighten the watch and create a unique case closing system with fewer visible screws than on a regular timepiece. According to the manufacture, each watch contains material from the Apollo 11 mission on the bezel.
Internally, the transparent sapphire glass highlights the single barrel at 12 o’clock, the balance wheel at 6 o’clock and RJ-Romain Jerome’s monogram at 3 o’clock.
The RJ-Romain Jerome Skylab watch is available in 5N Rose Gold, anthracite or black PVD coated-steel.
