Results From The 2015 Middle East Watch Of The Year Awards
The 11th annual Middle East “Watch of the Year” Awards ceremony held at The Ritz-Carlton in Dubai last Thursday night brought a glamorous conclusion to the Salon des Grandes Complications (Nov 16 – 19), both endorsed for the first time by the Federation of the Swiss Watch Industry FH.
More than 400 of the region’s most prominent watch enthusiasts attended the exclusive Gala & Awards ceremony.
How do the Awards work? This year, over 500 self-nominated watches were submitted for the twelve categories to a panel of 16 experts from the region that included collectors Claude Sfeir, Mishal Kanoo, Abbas Behbahani and Adel Ibrahim Yousuf, among other connoisseurs and industry leaders.
After shortlisting the submitted entries to 6 watches per category, the jury then proceeded to select the final winners, independently adjudicated by Morgan, Lewis & Bockius LLP.
Here is the list of the twelve categories and their respective award winners:

– Best Tourbillon Watch – Greubel Forsey Double Tourbillon

– Best Sports Watch – Panerai Luminor Submersible 1950 3 Days Chrono Flyback Automatic
– Best Multi-Time Zone Watch – Bovet 1822 Récital 17
– Best Technical Innovation Watch – Ulysse Nardin Stranger
– Best High-End Jewelled Watch – Cartier Ronde Louis Cartier XL Watch, filigree Panthers Motif
– Best Design Watch – Vianney Halter Deep Space Tourbillon
– Best Classical Watch – H.Moser & Cie Venturer Small Seconds
– Best Independent Watch Brand – MB&F
– Best Digital Watch – Montblanc TimeWalker Urban Speed e-Strap
Both the Salon and the Awards are expected to return next year.
