Montblanc Set to Unveil “Homage to Nicolas Rieussec” Chronograph at SIHH 2014
The Salon International de la Haute Horlogerie begins on Monday, and in anticipation we’re fitting in one last sneak peek today! For SIHH 2014 luxury watchmaker Montblanc will unveil a new “Homage to Nicolas Rieussec” Chronograph.
This limited edition chronograph begins with a 43mm case in 18K rose gold, a crown with an inlaid mother-of-pearl Montblanc emblem and a monopusher at 8 o’clock. There is also a version available in stainless steel.
The grainé dial features a main enamelled hour-circle with a black minute track and rose gold hour and minute hands. In the dark, Superluminova-coated Arabic numerals that are invisible under daylight conditions also appear on the hour circle. The hour and minute hands are also coated in Superluminova. A skeletonised rhodium-plated hour-hand indicates a second time zone.
The dial also features two enamelled rotating discs, one a 60 second subdial at 8 o’clock and the other a 30 minute subdial at 4 o’clock, which share a motionless rhombic double index made of blued steel.
Finally, the dial also features the date at 3 o’clock and a day/night display for the second time zone at 9 o’clock.
At its heart is the Calibre MB R200, with double barrel, automatic winding and 72-hour power reserve. The sapphire crystal caseback offers a glimpse of this 319-component mechanical movement, as well as the power reserve display.
This timepiece is completed by a black alligator leather strap with a triple folding clasp.
