Mayweather v Pacquiao: Hublot Partner With Floyd Mayweather Jr.
Floyd “Money” Mayweather and Manny Pacquiao will square off tonight at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas, and Hublot is making sure it will be front and center, in what has been hailed as the biggest boxing match of the century.
The luxury Swiss watch brand announced their sponsorship of Mayweather shortly before the weight-in last night, and presented the undefeated 10-Time World Champion with a unique King Power WBC Full Pavé with Emeralds to mark the occasion. Mayweather will also wear the Hublot brand name on his boxing trunks on Saturday night – something he has never done previously. “Everyone knows I am a big fan of luxury watches and Hublot is one of them,” said Mayweather minutes before the highly anticipated weight-in. “I am extremely grateful for their support and I look forward to adding the King Power WBC Full Pavé with Emeralds to my collection.”
The world’s best pound-for-pound boxer and the CEO of Hublot appeared jubilant as they reunited for the first time since Mayweather’s last fight, when Ricardo Guadalupe famously jumped onto the ring to gift Mayweather a Hublot King Power WBC. The Swiss brand, known for its high profile sporting ambassadors has been a partner of the World Boxing Council (WBC) since 2012, and has auctioned a number of one-of-a-kind watches in honor of Hall Of Fame boxers.
Floyd Mayweather and Manny Pacquiao will step into the ring on Saturday May 2 in Las Vegas, with the main event scheduled for 8pm local time.
