London To Host Next Patek Philippe Watch Art Grand Exhibition
During an exclusive ceremony with the British press, Patek Philippe announced plans to bring the Watch Art Grand Exhibition to London, at the Saatchi Gallery, in May 2015.
Mark Hearn, the Managing Director for Patek Philippe UK, said he was “very proud” of hosting the event in London, describing the business and tourism hub as the ideal venue for next year’s event.
The exhibition will bring a close to the Patek Philippe 175th anniversary celebrations, which started on the 1st of May this year, and will showcase the brand’s tradition of high-precision watch manufacturing.
Mark Hearn says the exhibition’s objective will be to “inspire and help visitors to understand and appreciate watchmaking.”
School trips are also scheduled during the whole period of the Exhibition, and the British School of Watchmaking, which Mr. Hearn directs, will be part of that education program.
Mr. Hearn also announced the Grand Exhibition would incorporate the much-anticipated commemorative watch collection for Patek Philippe’s 175th anniversary, which will be presented in October this year. He did not release further information on those watches.
The exhibition will be free to the public, and open from 10:00 to 19:00 weekdays and Saturdays, and from 10:00 to 16:00 on Sundays. Guided tours will be available on a daily basis, and in different languages.
