The New Koenigsegg Jesko Absolut, Forever The Fastest From The Automaker

The all-new Koenigsegg Jesko Absolut has been unveiled as the fastest car ever from the automaker. The company has also declared that it will never undertake a faster series-production road car to overtake the new, fantastic model. Customers will have the choice between the Jesko Absolut and the more track-oriented version of the Jesko revealed a year ago.

“The Jesko Absolut with its shockingly low drag coefficient of 0.278 Cd, combined with its high-speed stability optimized aero features, daily drive friendly characteristics and luggage space, make the Jesko Absolut a land-based rocket-ship determined to reach unheard-of speed in record-setting pace”, says CEO and founder Christian von Koenigsegg.

Less Drag, Faster Car

The Jesko Absolut was designed to reduce drag or turbulence around the vehicle while simultaneously increasing stability at high speeds. It is stealthier than the Jesko debuted last year.

The new model has a drag coefficient value of 0.278 Cd. Combined with a frontal area of 1.88 square meters and a power level of minimum 1600 bhp, the Jesko Absolut achieves higher speeds than any car from Koenigsegg or other homologated vehicles in the market.

Sleekness

The Jesko Absolut from Koenigsegg has a smooth look, in part by the two fins that replace the rear spoiler, which are derived from F-15 fighter jets. The main body also resembles a fighter jet with an elongated rear hood.

Powerful

The 1600 bhp (when engine is running on E85 fuel), twin-turbocharged V8 engine fitted with a 180-degree crankshaft enabling an 8500-rpm rev limit powers the Koenigsegg Jesko Absolut to full potential. It is connected to the nine-speed Light Speed Transmission (LST) system developed by Koenigsegg. The LST allows instant gear changes, no matter how many gears are skipped, thanks to the Ultimate Power On Demand (UPOD) gear-change technology.

Other features in the Jesko Absolut include an extended rear hood, covered rear wheels, lowered ride height, and removed front wheel louvres and front hood closed air duct.
