This week, Jaquet Droz hosted a special event in New York to mark the start of summer and the arrival of its 2014 novelties. Originally presented at BaselWorld, this was the first time the manufacture’s new novelties were seen in the United States.

Quantième Perpetuel Eclipse Ivory Enamel This 43mm 18K red gold perpetual calendar features a classical grand feu enamel dial. The ivory dial features central hours and minutes, as well as retrograde date function on the right-hand side of the dial and retrograde day function on the left-hand side of the dial. There is also a pointer-type month display and a leap-year indicator at 12 o’clock, and a moon phase display at 6 o’clock with an ivory hand. The Quantième Perpetuel Eclipse Ivory Enamel is powered by the Jaquet Droz 5853LR.4, a self-winding mechanical movement with double barrel and a 22K white gold oscillating weight visible via the sapphire crystal caseback. There is also a numbered engraving on the caseback. It boasts a 68-hour power reserve. It is completed by a black alligator leather strap with an 18K red gold folding clasp. Reference J030533201 .

Grande Seconde Quantième Ivory Enamel This 43mm 18K red gold timepiece features a stunning ivory grand feu enamel double level dial. A subdial on the upper half of the dial features hours and minutes, while the lower half features a large seconds subdial with a date display. All hands are in red gold, and the date hand features a special red varnished tip. The Grande Seconde Quantième Ivory Enamel is powered by the Jaquet Droz 2660Q2.P, a self-winding mechanical movement with a 68-hour power reserve. This caliber, which features a silicon balance, double barrel, flat bridges and red gold oscillating weight, can be glimpsed via the sapphire crystal caseback. The individual serial number is also engraved on the caseback. It is completed by a black alligator leather strap with a red gold ardillon buckle. Reference J007033200 .

Grande Seconde Quantième Côtes de Genève We also saw a stainless steel version of the 43mm Grande Seconde Quantième model with a beautifully decorated blue dial. It features blue Côtes de Genève and blue opaline rings distinguishing Jaquet Droz’s signature figure-eight double dials. The hour, minute, seconds and date hands are rhodium-treated, and the date hand features a red varnished tip. It is completed by a complimentary blue alligator leather strap with a stainless steel folding clasp. Reference J029020241 .

Petite Heure Minute Relief Horse This 41mm 18K red gold timepiece features a red gold hand-engraved horse applique on a patinated white mother-of-pearl dial with a hand-made engraving of the Great Wall of China. Functions include hours and minutes, on an off-centre subdial distinguished by a red gold ring. The Petite Heure Minute Relief Horse is powered by the Jaquet Droz 2653, a self-winding mechanical movement with double barrel, and a mother-of-pearl and 18K red gold oscillating weight featuring a Great Wall of China applique. It boasts a 68-hour power reserve. It is completed by a black alligator leather strap with an 18K red gold ardillon buckle. Only 88 pieces will be produced. Reference J005023275 .

Grande Seconde SW Steel This 41mm stainless steel Grande Seconde timepiece features a crown with rubber cast and a beautifully decorated gray dial with Côtes de Genève. The double dial, picked out in applied 18K white gold rings, features hours and minutes on the top half and a large seconds subdial on the lower half. The top and bottom halves are demarcated by a steel plate across the width of the dial. The rhodium-treated hands feature Super-LumiNova tips. The Grande Seconde SW Steel is powered by the Jaquet Droz 2663A-S, a self-winding mechanical movement with ruthenium treatment, double barrel and 18K white gold oscillating weight. It boasts a 68-hour power reserve. The caseback features a numbered engraving and a sapphire crystal. It is completed by a gray alligator leather strap with tone on tone stitching and a stainless steel folding clasp. Reference J029020242 .

Petite Heure Minute Carps This 39mm 18K red gold timepiece features a case set with 248 diamonds and a grand feu enamel dial with a miniature painting of carp fish frolicking amongst water lilies. The ivory dial also features an off-center subdial for hours and minutes, distinguished by a red gold ring. The Petite Heure Minute Carps is powered by the Jaquet Droz 2653, a self-winding mechanical movement with a double barrel and a 22K white gold oscillating weight. It is completed by a brown alligator leather strap with an 18K red gold ardillon buckle set with 24 diamonds. Only 28 pieces will be produced. Reference J005013206 .

Petite Heure Minute 35mm Shiny This 35mm 18K red gold timepiece boasts an astounding 1,272 diamonds, for a total of 4.14 carats. The red gold case and lugs are set with 685 diamonds, while the dial is set with 565 diamonds. A white mother-of-pearl off-center subdial, distinguished by an 18K red gold ring, showcases hours and minutes functions. The Petite Heure Minute 35mm Shiny is powered by the Jaquet Droz 2653, a self-winding mechanical movement with a double barrel and a 22K white gold oscillating weight, which is visible via the sapphire crystal caseback. The caseback also features a numered engraving. It boasts a 68-hour power reserve. It is completed by a brown satin strap with a red gold buckle set with 22 diamonds. Reference J005003220 .
