Introducing The Vacheron Constantin Traditionnelle World Time (Live Pictures And Specs From Watches & Wonders 2015)

Vacheron Constantin has a long history with world time. The tricky complication is sewn into the very DNA of the Geneva-based manufacture. Even during the early days of the brand, founder Jean-Marc Vacheron and his successors traversed the world and brought pieces to markets on the periphery of the Swiss watch industry. Thinking globally has remained an important virtue for Vacheron Constantin.

The Maison introduced their first timepieces endowed with an international time mechanism in 1932. That mechanical movement, created by Louis Cottier, indicated 24 time zones and allowed wearers to read-off the time in 31 cities across the globe. In the years since, the Maison released several wristwatches and table clocks that improved on the complication’s utility, adding even more time zones to their pieces.

The new Calibre 2460 WT now displays the correct time for cities like Caracas in Venezuela (GMT – 4:30).
