Introducing The RM 61-01 Yohan Blake Limited Edition Monochrome
Richard Mille continues its successful partnership with Jamaican sprinter Yohan Blake by unveiling the RM 61-01 Yohan Blake Monochrome. The latest model comes only a few months after the RM 61-01 Yohan Blake Limited Edition All Black, but a speedy release is what’s expected from a partnership with the second fastest man in the world.
A limited edition of 50 pieces, the new watch is available exclusively at Richard Mille Boutiques in Geneva, Paris, London Mount Street, Harrods, Milan, Monaco, Dubai, Abu Dhabi and Doha.
And while the new watch is black and white, there is nothing vintage about this timepiece. The “Monochrome” brings back some of our favourite features from the RM 61-01 Yohan Blake, from its asymmetrical case to its highly skeletonized dial.
This time, the RM 61-01 Yohan Blake Monochrome features a case made from black TZP-N ceramic, a caseband made in NTPT® carbon, and a rubber strap so it won’t slow Blake down. In fact, the aerodynamic RM 61-01 was designed for Blake to wear in-race with ground speed in mind and novel crown protectors that secure it all the way to the finish line.
Meanwhile, the open-worked dial and sapphire crystal caseback showcase the skeletonised RMUL2 movement, which features a 55-hour power reserve and boasts exceptional impact resistance, with validation testing for the RM 61-01 carried out in excess of 5000 G’s.
The third RM 61-01 Yohan Blake in the Richard Mille collection, this watch goes straight to the top of the podium.
