Hublot Unveils Six New Novelties at Geneva Fair
With all the watch world descended upon Geneva, luxury watchmaker Hublot has unveiled six new novelties. The manufacture, which has taken over the first floor of the Kempinski Hotel for its Hublot Lounge, unveiled their creations for the 2014 Geneva Fair.
Here’s your look at these six unveilings, which include five new timepieces and one unique collaboration:
The Classic Fusion Tourbillon Night Out
Hublot is billing this 30-piece limited edition as the perfect tuxedo watch, and we have to agree! The 45mm Classic Fusion case is in black polished ceramic, as is the bezel. The black lacquered dial features baguette diamond indices and rhodium-plated hands. The in house-manufacture MHUB6011 hand-wound tourbillon movement is visible through a window at 6 o’clock on the dial, as well as the open sapphire crystal caseback. This piece is completed by a shiny black calfskin leather strap sewn onto black rubber with a black PVD steel deployant buckle.
The Spirit of Big Bang
This Big Bang features a 51mm X 45mm tonneau shape case in 18K King Gold or titanium and a rubber screw-down crown with the Hublot logo. The bezel can be in the same material as the case or ceramic, so there are 4 different versions in total. The dial features 5N gold-plated or satin-finished rhodium-plated hands with white SuperLuminova™ and a central chonograph seconds hand. Functions include seconds at 9 o’clock, 30 minute timer at 3 o’clock, hours at 6 o’clock and a date window between 4 and 5 o’clock. At its heart is the new HUB4700 movement, the result of a collaboration between Hublot and Zénith based on a Zénith El Primero chronograph “chassis” with date. This timepiece is completed by a black or brown alligator leather strap stitched onto black rubber, with a King Gold or titanium deployant buckle depending on the version.
The Big Bang Unico All Black
The latest in Hublot’s famous All Black series, this special Big Bang Unico is a limited edition of just 500 numbered pieces. The 45.5mm case is in black ceramic or carbon fibre, with a black composite resin bezel lugs, a black anodised aluminium bezel ring, black pushpieces, and black rubber crown. The skeletonized dial features black indexes, a black counter ring and a black date window at 3 o’clock. The HUB 1242 Unico automatic flyback chronograph movement, which is fully coated in black PVD, can be glimpsed through the sapphire crystal caseback. This piece is completed by a ribbed black rubber strap with black PVD titanium or carbon fibre deployant buckle.
The Big Bang Jeans for Men
After the success of the jeans model Hublot unveiled for women in 2013, the men are getting this 250-piece limited edition Big Bang Jeans model. The 44mm case is micro-blasted black ceramic, as is the bezel. The dial features genuine denim and matt black counters with polished, satin-finished, rhodium-plated hands. At its heart is the MHUB4100 self-winding chronograph movement. This piece is completed by a genuine denim strap sewn onto black rubber with orange saddle stitching and a black PVD steel deployant buckle.
The Big Bang Pop Art for Ladies
This model, which comes in four different vibrant colors, was inspired by the famous Pop Art movement. Each of the 4 colors is limited to a 200 piece edition. The 41mm case is in either steel or 18K 3N gold, with a white gold or 3N gold bezel. The bezel is also set with 48 baguette gems; topazes in the blue version, amethysts on the purple version, sapphires on the pink version and tsavorites on the green version. The matte blue lacquered features rhodium or gold-plated applique indexes and a date window between 4 and 5 o’clock. This piece is completed by a blue, purple, pink or green alligator strap sewn onto tone-on-tone rubber, with a deployant buckle.
The Hublot Sunglasses
These Swiss-made numbered sunglasses were developed with Marcus Marienfeld AG and Zeiss (inventor of the anti-reflective coating). Inside the adjustable titanium black or titanium frame are blue-grey CR-39 lenses. Their inner surface benefits from Zeiss’ famous anti-reflective coating (they invented the anti-reflective coating), which prevents internal reflections and makes it water repellent. An additional coating on the outside means the sunglasses require less cleaning as fingerprints, marks and dust adhere less to the surface. The brand logo is featured on each arm, with a rubber insert at the end for comfort.
