Hublot Makes Marc Ferrero’s Iconic ‘Lipstick’ In Black And White
That Hublot loves art is something that has already been established. The brand has teamed up with some of the most well-known and celebrated artists from around the world to bring their unique style into the port-hole design that made Hublot such an icon. Next to Richard Orlinski and Romero Britto is also Marc Ferrero among them. The French artist teamed up with Hublot for the second time, creating two watches around what is arguably his most well-known work, ‘Lipstick.’
Ferrero opted for a more graphic approach and used the Big Bang One Click 39mm to create a watch in either black or white. For him, they represent day and night, with the clear notion that day without the night is not a day, and that the night without the day is not a night. The monochrome colors make the watch even more expressive, especially as the lips, a key element in this work of art, are bright red. While they instantly grab your attention, they also serve as an invitation to explore the watch and its artwork, even more. Ferrero is often called the master of Storytelling Art, and for a good reason. The lacquered dial shows next to the red lips a face with sunglasses and hair that is made up out of a clever combination of faces and figures. This gives the Big Bang One Click 39mm Marc Ferrero an unprecedented depth and a story to explore and make yourself, every time you wear the watch.
This story continues on the strap as Ferrero created one in calfskin on a rubber lining that takes the design of the dial around the wrist. It looks not only breathtaking but also makes this Hublot a true piece of wearable art. An additional alligator strap is provided as well, for moments when you want the focus on the dial itself. The black version of this watch features a black ceramic case combining satin-finished and polished surfaces and a bezel set with brilliant-cut diamonds. For the white version, the case is made from stainless steel. Both are limited to 100 pieces and powered by caliber HUB1710, an automatic movement with a 50-hour power reserve. As a fitting finishing touch is also the box of this exquisite limited-edition decorated with artwork from Marc Ferrero.
