Haute Time Visits Jaeger-LeCoultre in New York
Haute Time recently had the chance to get a close up look at Jaeger-LeCoultre’s new novelties. We visited the manufacture in New York City, where we saw the timepieces Jaeger-LeCoultre unveiled at the Salon International de la Haute Horlogerie 2014.
Here’s your look at some of our favorites:
Master Ultra Thin & Master Ultra Thin Date
These two additions to Jaeger-LeCoultre’s Master Ultra Thin collection are bound to be new classics. The Master Ultra Thin features the traditional hours and minutes, with small seconds at 6 o’clock, while the Master Ultra Thin Date features hours and minutes, with a central seconds hand and a date window at 6 o’clock. Housed in 40mm cases, these timepieces are only 7.45mm thick.
Duomètre Unique Travel Time
This timepiece features a second time zone and a day/night indicator on the globe at 6 o’clock, which also shows the time zones of the planet. The caseback features engraved names of cities corresponding to the 24 time zones. It is housed in a 42mm pink gold case.
Master Grande Tradition Tourbillon Cylindrique à Quantième Perpétuel
This 42mm perpetual calendar timepiece features hours, minutes and seconds, as well as the month and year at 12 o’clock, the day and moonphase at 3 o’clock, and the date at 9 o’clock. The tourbillon is showcased at 6 o’clock on the dial, while the caseback features a 22K pink gold medal on the oscillator, similar to the one Jaeger-LeCoultre earned at the Universal Exhibition of Paris in 1889.
Grande Reverso Night & Day & Grande Reverso Ultra Thin 1931
These two new additions to the Reverso collection are the latest reinventions of Jaeger-LeCoultre’s now-legendary reversible watch, which was invented in the 1930s for polo players to protect their watches.
Rendez-Vous Date & Rendez-Vous Night & Day
These 34mm timepieces feature highly legible hours and minutes. On the Rendez-Vous Date the bezel is set with diamonds, and there is a date window on the guillochéd dial at 6 o’clock, while the Rendez-Vous Night & Day is paved with diamonds and features a day/night indicator at 6 o’clock.
