Haute Living Watch of the Week: Glashütte Original PanoMaticInverse
The beauty of the mechanical movement is front and center in the PanoMaticInverse. Components of the automatic Caliber 91-02 reversed, with the aim of highlighting the manufacture’s signature fine adjustment system – a duplex swan-neck mechanism – by making it visible on the dial side. Beneath it beats the pulsating heart of the watch, the escapement.
Also visible on the dial side are the blued screws and red rubies of the three-quarter dial plate, which is rhodium plated and decorated with Glashütte ribbing. Positioned against this backdrop are the off-center hour and minute dial, characteristic of the Pano line, as well as the seconds dial and panorama date display.
The back side of the movement shows the skeletonized central rotor, with a 21K gold oscillating mass, against a backdrop of Glashütte ribbing, as well as a number of rubies and two-tone engravings on the wheel bridge. The PanoMaticInverse is fitted with a Louisiana alligator Nubuk leather strap or a satin brushed and polished stainless steel case.
