Haute Jewelry: the Extraordinary Jewelry of Alexandre Reza
For this week’s edition of Haute Jewelry, we’re looking at the Extraordinary Jewelry of Alexandre Reza. The collection, which comprises both historic and contemporary pieces, will be on display to the public at a Sotheby’s exhibition in New York City next month.
The Extraordinary Jewelry of Alexandre Reza exhibition will feature some of the world’s rarest gemstones, including suites of over 102 carats of untreated Colombian emeralds and Ceylon sapphire and diamond earrings of over 148 carats total weight.
The exhibition will also include new pieces designed by Olivier Reza, son of now-retired Alexandre. Olivier’s designs include earrings featuring old mine Colombian emeralds set in baguette diamonds and a natural pearl necklace with perfect color, luster and shape.
From New York, the exhibition will travel to Sotheby’s global offices in 2014, with planned locales including London, Doha and Beijing.
The Extraordinary Jewelry of Alexandre Reza will be open to the public for viewing from November 2 – 14 at Sotheby’s New York. For more information, please visit the Sotheby’s website. Photos courtesy Sotheby’s.
