Hands-On With The Omega Seamaster Aqua Terra 150M CO-AXIAL GMT 43 MM (Live Pictures, Pricing Information…)
The Seamaster Aqua Terra 150M Co-Axial GMT 43MM traces its history back to 1948 when the first Seamaster was released. Designed for sailors and modeled after the OMEGA Marine, the Seamaster was OMEGA’s first water resistant watch. Over the years, OMEGA has expanded and updated the beloved Seamaster line to include and even James Bond could be seen sporting the Seamaster Planet Ocean in his latest mission.
Part of the Seamaster pillar, the Aqua Terra straddles the line between a sport and dress watch with its sleek looks yet rugged build. As a tribute to its maritime history, Seamaster Aqua Terra is immediately recognizable by a Teak Concept pattern in brown, which decorates the grey dial on this GMT model.
The GMT model is specifically designed for travelers or people who conduct business across the world and so it has the function of indicating two different time zones through a third hand co-axial to the hours and minutes hands. A convenient date reference is tucked in at 6 o’clock.
Though the Aqua Terra 150M CO-AXIAL GMT 43 MM has sleek looks, don’t mistake it for a delicate watch. Like its predecessors, it has a rugged build in a 43MM stainless steel case water resistant to 150M. While not rated for diving at 300m, the Aqua Terra is more than up to the task of beating back the elements of everyday life. This model of the Aqua Terra 150M CO-AXIAL GMT 43 MM is given some snazzy pop with its 18K red gold bezel highlighted by the stainless steel bracelet with 18K red gold links.
The Aqua Terra 150M CO-AXIAL GMT 43 MM runs off a tiger of a movement, OMEGA’s Co-Axial calibre 8605. Originally developed by the renowned George Daniels, it reduces friction and thus increases precision and reduces wear and tear and the movement. Of course, you would expect a movement with state of the art technology to get you where you’re going on time—and it does. The watch is chronometer rated, which means you can be assured it will be within -4/+6 seconds per day.
When you wear an OMEGA Seamaster Aqua Terra 150M CO-AXIAL GMT 43 MM, you get modern technology, beautiful aesthetics and versatility combined with the history of a storied brand.
