Going for Green With Specially Crafted Timepieces from Bulgari, Roger Dubuis, and La Montre Hermès
A symbol of life and fertility in hot, arid climates, the color green also means lucky in Ireland and hopeful in France. Attributed with almost as many qualities as there are countries and cultures, whether you like yours in a forest, shamrock or olive tone, no matter where you are, we all know everywhere that “Green Means Go”!
Here are three green timepieces to go for:
LVCEA Green Dial Middle East Exclusive from Bulgari
When Bulgari launched the LVCEA in 2014, Watches Design Center Senior Director at Bulgari Horlogerie SA Fabrizio Buonamassa Stigliani told us it was one of the most difficult watches to make. “Bulgari uses strong shapes, pure and clean, with unique geometry” he said, and the challenge of the LVCEA was to make it bold with subtle details, capturing the spirit of Bulgari with a balance of “simple and sophisticated”.
Today, a limited edition of 27 timepieces with green sunray and lacquered polished dial punctuated with diamond indices has been created exclusively for clients in the Middle East.
Equipped with an automatic movement, the 33mm case and unmistakable Bulgari bracelet of this gorgeous timepiece are made of rose gold and stainless steel; the rubellite crown is the cherry on the cake of this special edition priced at 40’000 AEDirhams.
Available in UAE, Kuwait, Bahrain, Saudi Arabia, and Qatar.
Excalibur 42 Automatic with Malachite Dial – Special Kuwait Edition from Roger Dubuis
Among the brands creating special editions for the Middle East, Manufacture Roger Dubuis unveils its first-ever Limited Edition timepiece dedicated to Kuwait. This stunning Excalibur 42 Automatic timepiece with a striking Malachite dial has been commissioned to celebrate the long and fruitful partnership between the Swiss haute watchmaker and its Kuwaiti partner, the M. Y. Behbehani Group.
The commemorative timepiece, of which just 30 are being produced, is a true collector’s item.
Each uniquely patterned Malachite dial is set off with silver hands and Roman numerals and a stainless steel case. Through the sapphire case back, the signature Roger Dubuis micro-rotor fascinates. This Limited Edition timepiece, like every other creation of Roger Dubuis, bears the Poincon de Geneve. Priced at 88’000 AED.
Hermès Faubourg Manchette Joaillerie from La Montre Hermès
From La Montre Hermès, we had the “Faubourg” – an exquisite, dainty 15.5 mm watch that came with a variety of interpretations launched in 2014, followed in 2015 by the sublime Faubourg Joaillerie set with over 600 white diamonds, and the Faubourg Manchette that transformed the ultra-feminine original “Faubourg” into an all leather-clad cuff complete with saddle-stitching, burnishing and beeswax finish, paying tribute to the harness and saddle-maker origins of the brand.
Meet the new Hermès “Faubourg Manchette Joaillerie” – the dream piece that combines it all:
a 19.5 mm round case in pink gold with a dial in Malachite set with 4 diamonds encircled by a bezel set with 36 baguette-cut emeralds, all wrapped in a luxurious cuff of smooth emerald green alligator with a 10 mm rose gold pin buckle.
And if, after all of this, you are not green with envy, the “Faubourg Manchette Joaillerie” also comes in pink gold with Lapis Lazuli or Tiger’s Eye diamond-set dials, bezels set with 36 baguette-cut blue or brown sapphires, and cuffs of blue or Etruscan alligator. And if that doesn’t make you dizzy with choice, a 4th version exists in white gold with an onyx diamond-set dial, bezel set with 36 baguette-cut white diamonds, and smooth black alligator cuff.
All are equipped with Swiss-crafted quartz movements, with functions of hours and minutes.
Priced at: Malachite + Emeralds 121’200AED; Tiger’s Eye + brown sapphires 79’730AED; Lapis Lazuli + blue sapphires 98,400AED; Onyx + diamonds 106’450AED.
