Girard-Perregaux Unveil New Collection With Sea Hawk and Chrono Hawk
Luxury watchmakers Girard-Perregaux have got timepiece aficionados buzzing with the unveiling of their new Hawk Collection. The two-piece collection is a stunning sports line perfectly balancing the 221 year-old heritage of the brand with modern design. The new Sea Hawk diver watch and the Chrono Hawk watch are each perfectly attuned to take on the challenges of modern life, from luxury events to deep sea diving.
The Sea Hawk has a 44mm-diameter steel case, with an anti-reflective sapphire screwed caseback. Water-resistant to 1,000 meters, this watch was designed to withstand the rigors of deep scuba diving, incorporating a helium valve for use during decompression and an anti-clockwise turning bezel for divetime calculations. The dial was designed for legibility, with marks and hands coated in luminescent material and elements like the power reserve highlighted in orange. Inside this watch is driven by a GP3300 self-winding mechanical movement which works at 28,800 vibrations per hour, affording the Sea Hawk a 46-hour power reserve. A strap in black rubber with a steel folding buckle complete the look.
Meanwhile, the Chrono Hawk also begins with a 44mm-diameter case. The design of the Chrono Hawk’s case combines sharp edges with a round bezel in a beautiful contemporary style. This watch embodies balance, with black elements drawing attention to the architectural nature of the watch in the detail of its flange and the octagonal rubber ring that holds the satin-finish steel bezel. The light colored dial features two chronograph counters, facing each other at the 3 o’clock and the 9 o’clock. The date, hour and minute hands are all luminescent. Inside the Chrono Hawk is driven by the same exceptional GP3300 movement, finished to the rigorous standards of Fine Watchmaking, while a leather and rubber strap finishes the look.
While the Sea Hawk and Chrono Hawk comprise the collection, Girard-Perregaux have also released a limited edition limited edition watch in partnership with an exhibit taking place during Art Week in Miami at the city’s iconic Freedom Tower.
The Sea Hawk watch retails for $11,350. The Chrono Hawk watch retails for $14,800. The limited-edition FOReverglades Hawk watch retails for $12,500. For locations and more information please visit the Girard-Perregaux website. Source and photos courtesy Girard-Perregaux press release.
