Embracing the Exotic With Cartier’s Crocodile Decoration Tourbillon Watch

Luxury watchmakers Maison Cartier have unveiled a stunning new limited-edition tourbillon timepiece with a unique, exotic Crocodile Decoration. Cartier, which is known around the world for its expertise in making creative jewelry pieces using stones and precious metals, have brought their talents to the world of spectacular mechanisms.

This high jewelry timepiece, which is limited to just 50 pieces, begins with a 44.5mm-diameter case of rhodiumized 18K white gold, set with round diamonds and a circular-grained crown set with a diamond. The dial of this Tourbillon is a true work of art; set in 18K rhodiumized white gold is a crocodile motif made from mother-of-pearl, set with round diamonds, eyes in emerald, green and red translucent enamel. Delicate water lilies made from 18K rhodiumized white gold complete the motif, in addition to sword-shaped blued-steel hands.

At its heart, the Tourbillon Crocodile Decoration timepiece is driven by a mechanical Manufacture movement with manual winding caliber 9458MC and flying tourbillon (certified with the Geneva Seal). The movement, which is nearly as beautiful as the dial, can be glimpsed through the transparent case back. A “toile brossée” fabric strap and ardillon buckle in 18K rhodiumized white gold set with round diamonds completes the look.
