Close Up: Harry Winston Ocean Biretrograde
Today we’re taking a close up look at the Ocean Biretrograde by Harry Winston. This new women’s timepiece is ample evidence that Harry Winston is better than ever since the manufacture was purchased by the Swatch Group.
The Ocean Biretrograde begins with a 36mm 18K case in either rose or white gold, set with 57 brilliant-cut diamonds weighing approximately 2.15 carats. The dial is decorated with smaller diamonds, around the hours and minutes sub-dial at 12 o’clock. The dial, in grey or white, also features a day sub-dial and a seconds sub-dial, as well as a date aperture at 6 o’clock.
At its heart is a HW1029 mechanical movement with double retrograde functions (second and day). The movement is finished with a gold skeletonized rotor, Cotes de Genève, circular graining and chamfered bridges – all visible through a sapphire crystal case back. The Ocean Biretrograde boasts a 42 hour power reserve.
The Ocean Biretrograde is completed by either a leather strap or a rose gold bracelet, which can be fully or partially set with diamonds.
