Luxury watchmaker Cartier has reopened its flagship boutique in Geneva, Switzerland. The manufacture’s boutique on the prestigious Rue du Rhone is one of Cartier’s largest, with 1000 m2 of space.

Originally designed by Swiss architect Pierre Braillard, the space has been home to Cartier since 1970. Perched on the banks of Lake Geneva, the boutique is housed in a modernist glass cube with honeycomb windows. The 1960s-era structure has been redesigned by Bruno Moinard, the architect and interior designer behind Cartier’s revamps across the globe.

Inside, the boutique is comprised of adjoining salons housing the manufacture’s different collections, from bridal to high jewelry. Each salon boasts a different feeling; for example, the men’s watchmaking showroom is in upholstered tan leather.

The boutique also houses “Poinçon de Genève” workshops on site, where customers can see the manufacture’s watchmakers working on haute horlogerie pieces like the Ballon Bleu de Cartier, flying tourbillon and Rotonde de Cartier double tourbillon mystery watches.
