Cartier Brings Paris to Qatar at Doha Jewelry & Watches Exhibition
This week Cartier returned to the Doha Jewellery and Watches Exhibition with an impressive showcase of over 150 creations. The manufacture’s exhibition was displayed in a new space which recreates Maison Cartier’s legendary Parisian address at 13 rue de la Paix and Place Vendome, shedding light on the vital link between the historical heart of the Maison’s expertise and its secret jewelry workshops.
Ond display in “L’Odyssée de Cartier – Parcours d’un style” (a journey of style) are an Orient-inspired bracelet with geometric motifs, star-shaped designs and one 67.93-carat emerald-cut aquamarine surrounded with an oriental palette of diamonds, aquamarines, obsidian and brilliants at its center.
Visitors also have the opportunity to marvel at the jewelry and timepieces as they journey through a series of exclusive salons. Of particular note is the legendary “Jeanne Toussaint” salon, named for the woman who reigned over the jewelry world from the moment she was named Director of Jewelry at Cartier in 1933. Interestingly, Toussaint’s nickname was “La Panthère” – noteworthy considering the panther motif frequently appears in Cartier’s creations!
The space also showcases the Maison’s fine watchmaking collection and unique high jewelry watches. Men’s watches with innovative movements certified with the highest quality seal of watchmaking like the “Geneva Seal”, including the Rotonde de Cartier Mysterious calibre 9454 MC and the Ballon Bleu De Cartier Flying Tourbillon calibre 9452 MC, will be on display.
