Today’s Haute Time Watch of the Day is The Tourbillon Bi-Axial Tantalum and Sapphire by Girard-Perregaux.
This timepiece was designed after a Tourbillon pocket watch from the 1860’s using ultra modern materials. Incorporating three sapphire bridges into the design as well as a material called tantalum, which is a corrosion reistant grayish blue metal that is also very durable and gives the timepiece a very contemporary fell.
The 45 mm Tantalum houses the GPE07-0002 manual-winding movement with Tourbillon Bi-Axial, hour and minute functions and a 70-hour power reserve. The case back is sapphire crystal secured to the case by 6 screws and the timepiecece is water-resistant to 30 meters.
The Tourbillon Bi-Axial Tantalum and Sapphire is available as part of a Limited Edition of 12 pieces created by Girard-Perregaux.
