Carmelo Anthony’s Haute Time Watch of the Day: HYT H1 Alumen Blue

Today’s Haute Time Watch of the Day is the H1 Alumen Blue by ‘fluid watch mechanic’ HYT. This recently released piece combines the watchmaker’s skills with a technique the brand has been coined for – fluid mechanics.

The H1 Alumen features a blue ALUN 316B shot-peened and satin-finished 48.8mm case, housing a mechanical, hand-wound exclusive HYT calibre movement. The amazing thing is watching the fluid inside the timepiece, as the hours pass, and the liquid passes through the reservoirs to mark the hours. A piston drives each of the two bellows to make this happen and activate the system to measure the time in retrograde fluid hours as well as minutes and seconds.

The dial is also blue ALUN 316B with an hour dial and minute dial, regulator at 12 o’clock, small seconds at 9:30 and power reserve indicator at 2:30.

The H1 Alumen is fitted with a black rubber strap with a titanium buckle and will be available for Summer 2014 as part of a Limited Edition of only 50 pieces available by HYT.
