Blancpain Partners With The Prince Albert II Of Monaco Foundation To Help Preserve The World’s Oceans
Horology and exploration have been intrinsically linked for centuries, so it’s only fitting that luxury watchmaker Blancpain and The Prince Albert II of Monaco Foundation have decided to formalize an official partnership to protect the ocean depths.
Continuing the legacy of Prince Albert I of Monaco, an intrepid explorer who undertook 28 exploration projects and is internationally recognized as as a pioneer of modern oceanography, H.S.H Prince Albert II has endeavored to place marine and environmental issues into the spotlight through the Prince Albert II of Monaco Foundation. The foundation has supported many ecological preservation projects across the globe, including initiatives in the Mediterranean basin, the polar regions and various developing countries. The foundation’s ultimate goal is to spread awareness on the impact of human activity on the environment.
Blancpain shares many of the same environmental concerns as the Prince Albert II of Monaco Foundation. Honoring its ties with diving and the Fifty Fathoms heritage, Blacpain has done an immense amount of work over the years protecting the world’s oceans under its Blancpain Ocean Commitment label. The Manufacture and the foundation are working to combine forces and provide a more effective positive impact on the environment. Both parties already collaborate by supporting the National Geographic Pristine Seas initiative, of which Blancpain is a long-serving partner and for which H.S.H. Prince Albert II is president of the advisory committee. The program protects a vast swath of marine areas in the United States, Great Britain, Chile, Gabon, Kiribati and Costa Rica.
