It was out of this passion that, last year, Semilof and business partner Kamal Hotchandani launched luxury timepiece website Haute Time. The two curate the site, hand-selecting all content that goes live. Semilof highlights his favorite—and the most sought-after—watch brands through weekly five-question interviews with the CEOs and Presidents of these top-tier companies. Finally, he curates the site on a daily basis, including three or more updates on newsworthy topics every day.

Since 1868 IWC Schaffhausen has crafted fine watches for the discriminating collector, and now the protagonist in a major motion picture has joined their ranks. Richemont Shares Rise on Profit Announcement

Swiss luxury conglomerate Richemont exhibited strong growth in 2012, despite significant investments and the heavy tariffs imposed on its goods by Chinese regulators. As the owner of several luxury brands including Cartier, Richemont is second only to LVMH in the scale of its luxury operations. For the first half of 2012, Richemont’s profits increased between 20-40% according to the company. The Swiss stock exchange was quick to respond, sending shares of the company 5.5% higher in trading this week, ending at 59.15 Swiss francs. 2012’s promising numbers follow 2011’s healthy growth of 43 percent. Wealthy Denizens of the French Riviera are Targets of Watch Thieves

The shimmer of the French Riviera has grown a little lacklustre thanks to a well-organized gang of thieves who have a penchant for ripping luxury watches off the wrists of wealthy vacationers. The scheme involves thieves on two scooters. Thought to be from Italy, they start by scouring the beaches and restaurants for affluent vacationers. Next, they follow them to their cars from a distance. When the driver is ready to go, one scooter will speed by the car, clipping the outside rear view mirror.
