Hublot Introduces Hublot MECA-10 Table Clock

In January 2016, Hublot unveiled its MECA-10 movement to much praise, having reinvented the manual movement and offering a smooth movement inspired by the Meccano construction system. Ever since, the MECA-10 has been highly lauded and considered one of the brand’s iconic movements.

Now, four years later, the brand has debuted its latest version of the MECA-10 movement—this time in an oversized form as a sleek and striking table clock—made four times larger than its original version. The table clock retains its original specifications, including its 10-day power reserve, but it is now on an even larger scale, and even more impressive to the eye as it rests boldly and powerfully on the table.

The clock is housed in a spacious 19.60 by 18.10 cm case, available in two versions: one with Meccano-inspired angles and a ring in polished satin-finished steel, and the second covered with black PVD and black coating for the bridges and supporting gear trains.

The feat was accomplished together with Jura-based L’Epée manufacturer, who offered its expertise in manufacturing a large-scale clock, versus Hublot’s knowledge of crafting the perfect wristwatch—which requires a much different approach. Together, they created the magic that is the MECA-10 Table Clock, demonstrating Hublot’s ethos of “Art of Fusion” in the watchmaking world.

“We have managed to reproduce the unique features of our MECA-10 movement on a larger scale. This feat of engineering was achieved thanks to the concerted effort of the teams from both Hublot and L’Epée. In this way, we are charting a new course for the hallowed tradition of watchmaking,” shares Hublot CEO, Ricardo Guadalupe.
