Grand Seiko Opens Largest Boutique In The World And Celebrates With Two Limited Editions
At Place Vendôme, the horological heart of Paris, has Grand Seiko opened its largest boutique in the world. While outside the hustle and bustle of the French capital rules, inside you can find the tranquility of Japan. Grand Seiko is offering its finest models in the over 2,000 square feet boutique, divided over two floors.
The interior was designed by Kengo Kuma, who used light colors, wood, and bamboo screens to create an inviting and luxurious surrounding. While there are many references to the homeland of Grand Seiko, it is most of all a boutique that allows clients and visitors to explore the many different models. It offers quite a treat as it does not only show the entire Grand Seiko collection but even a few Credor pieces, which usually cannot be found outside of Japan. For Grand Seiko, this boutique is a big step towards solidifying its status as a global luxury brand and expanding its market share.
To mark this special occasion has Grand Seiko also released two new limited editions, the Paris Vendôme Limited Edition. They are based on the Elegance collection, and they are set apart from their siblings by their unusual dial texture. Grand Seiko took inspiration from the cobblestone streets of Paris. A beautiful effect is that it does resemblance this indeed from a distance, but when you examine the dial closer, you see that each ‘cobblestone’ is made up out of small stripes. Further did Grand Seiko also made the seconds hand green, just as the Vendôme column, at the center of the square outside of the boutique. These limited editions are available with either a platinum or a rose gold case and are powered by caliber 9S63. They will remain very exclusive, with only ten being made of each, of course only available at the Grand Seiko boutique at Place Vendôme.
