Going Green For St.Patrick’s Day

If I had written this article a couple of years back, I would have said that green was a trend color, but this is not the case anymore. Many brands have not only adopted green as a staple color within their collection but also make many different types of watches in many different hues. From classic dress watches and utilitarian pilots to diving watches and sporty chronographs, green is here to stay, and what better day to wear a green watch than on St.Patrick’s Day?

Jacob & Co. Caviar Emerald Tourbillon Green Watch 2015

Jacob & Co. Caviar Emerald Tourbillon
Few watches are dressed in green in the way that the Jacob & Co donned their Caviar Emerald Tourbillon. The case of this watch is made from white gold, but you hardly see it, as the brand utilized a stunning invisible setting to cover it with 424 baguette-cut emeralds. This makes it almost seem as if the watch is chiseled out of a single stone. The movement that we find inside the Jacob & Co Caviar Emerald Tourbillon is also more than convincing. This manual wind caliber not only features a flying one-minute tourbillon but also has a 100-hour power reserve.

Breitling Premier B01 Chronograph 42 Bentley British Racing Green

Breitling Premier B01 Chronograph 42 Bentley British Racing Green
For some people is seeing a Breitling clock daily business, not on their wrist but on the dashboard of their Bentley. The iconic British car marque has a long-standing relationship with Breitling. They used the magnificent machines of the brand as an inspiration for many watches, and among them is the Breitling Premier B01 Chronograph 42 Bentley British Racing Green. As the name already indicates, did they use British racing green for the dial and strap. This color comes from a time when it wasn’t the individual car brands that battled each other on the race tracks but the countries they represent.

Hublot Big Bang Unico Green Golf

The Big Bang Unico Golf is another great success for Hublot. The watch can sincerely be considered a hole in one by the brand. Previously it was released in white and blue, but recently did Hublot also launch a green version in a limited edition of 100 pieces. The case is made from carbon fiber with a green Texalium upper layer. This material has an extraordinary texture, which gives the watch a unique appearance. Especially in combination with the strap, whose design is inspired by that of a golf glove. The mechanical movement not only tells the time but also allows you to easily keep track of your score as you play a round of golf.

Rolex Day-Date

Rolex Day-Date 36
Rolex is another brand where the love for green goes deep. While you can order your Submariner with a green dial and diving bezel, it is the Day-Date that has a long-standing history with dials in this color. In one of their more recent introductions, they created a gradient dial that is vibrant green at the center, and almost black at the edge. Diamond-hour markers and a yellow gold case and bracelet make this watch not only a true statement but also one of those watches that seem to be especially appropriate to wear on St.Patrick’s Day.
