Hublot Reopens Palm Beach Boutique With World-Renowned Golfer Dustin Johnson
To reopen its famed Palm Beach boutique on Worth Avenue, luxury Swiss watch manufacturer Hublot got a little help from one of its brand ambassadors, world-famous golfer Dustin Johnson. To mark the momentous occasion, a lineup of impressive Ferraris were parked on the street, where Johnson hit a ceremonial putt, before the ribbon cutting ceremony and cocktail party, hosted by President of Hublot North America, Jean-François Sberro.
“We are thrilled to be back in Palm Beach reopening our boutique on Worth Avenue,” began Sberro. “Our boutique is in great company in this luxurious shopping destination and we wanted to honor our relationship with the community by bringing golf superstar and Palm Beach resident Dustin Johnson to help celebrate this special occasion.”
The boutique is special in itself, given that it features Hublot’s global “beach design” concept for the first time in North America. Also found in European boutiques like Capri, Cannes and St. Tropez, the theme embodies a more nautical vibe with its neutral color palette, jute carpeting and seafare-inspired coloring, perfect for the high-end shopping district in Palm Beach.
“I am excited to be here in Palm Beach, the city I proudly call home to celebrate the reopening of Hublot’s boutique,” began Johnson. “I am honored to be on Hublot’s list of distinguished ambassadors and celebrate this unique and innovative brand.”
Johnson certainly finds himself in good company on that “list of distinguished ambassadors,” as the Hublot roster of golf superstars includes Masters Champion Patrick Reed and Olympic Games Gold Medalist and World #1 Justin Rose; and he certainly deserves it, given his list of numerous and impressive accolades in the world of golf that continues to grow. His latest accomplishment was his victory at the WGC in Mexico.
Making a big footprint in the world of professional golf, Hublot created the Big Bang UNICO Golf timepiece—worn by Johnson—designed, developed, manufactured and assembled by the brand for golf players (and enthusiasts). The MHUB1580 movement allows the wearer to calculate his or her score while playing on course, and is super lightweight for ease of play. The Texalium-carved case—a material exclusive to Hublot—combines carbon fiber and aluminum, which Johnson actually helped the brand launch in an all-white version two years ago. The style is now available in deep blue, which was recently released in Geneva.
