Hublot Opens Nautically Redesigned Cote D’Azur Stores, Unveils Big Bang Blue
Swiss watchmaker Hublot ushers in the nautical vibe of summer with two redesigned boutiques and a novel Big Bang Blue watch.
In late June, the horologer swept its stores in Cannes and Saint-Tropez with the waves of summer. The two boutiques now display a nautical theme that ranges from azure blue facades to oak-veneered interior walls, decorated with knotted ropes.
While moored to Hublot’s DNA, the makeover embodies the brand’s endeavor to reflect the history and character of the cities that host its stores. Fully immersed in the peculiarities of Cote d’Azur, Hublot shunned an official ribbon-cutting ceremony for a traditional ship launch event of rigging and breaking a bottle of champagne. Hublot CEO Ricardo Guadalupe and brand ambassador, designer Lapo Elkann opened the two stores.
At the occasion, Hublot also unveiled a new Big Bang model that basks in a deep cerulean shade – a tribute to both the sea and the sky. Water-resistant to up to 100m, the Big Bang Blue boasts a skeleton dial that rests atop a UNICO manufacture movement with a power reserve of three days. The 45mm watch offers two strap variations – blue and white natural rubber, and blue alligator leather.
The Big Bang Blue comes in a batch of only 100 watches. They are initially available through Hublot’s summer boutiques in Cannes, Saint-Tropez, Porto Cervo, Capri and Mykonos, before being released to all brand stores worldwide.
This is not the first time the label has reinvented its addresses. Last winter, it turned its stores in Zermatt and Courchevel into Alpine huts.
