Hublot Launches Classic Fusion Kobe Bryant “Herovillain” Timepiece In Beverly Hills
On May 18th, luxury Swiss watch brand Hublot celebrated the launch of its latest timepiece with Los Angeles Lakers legend and brand ambassador Kobe Bryant with a festive ribbon cutting ceremony in front of the newly redesigned Hublot Beverly Hills Boutique. The new timepiece, the Classic Fusion Kobe Bryant HeroVillain, is the third collaboration between the former NBA player and the brand, and follows the successful launches of the Big Bang UNICO Chronograph Retrograde Kobe “Vino” Bryant in 2015 and the King Power Black Mamba Chronograph in 2013.
The ribbon cutting ceremony, hosted by Jean- François Sberro, Managing Director Hublot of America, and Greg Simonian, Owner of the Hublot Beverly Hills boutique was followed by an intimate dinner at a private residence where guests toasted to Kobe’s illustrious career in the NBA. VIP guests included sportscaster Erin Andrews and professional ice hockey player Jarret Stoll.
During the dinner, Kobe Bryant shared “I’m honored to celebrate the launch of my third Hublot timepiece as I continue my pursuit of excellence and reflect on my career. The Classic Fusion Kobe Bryant HeroVillain symbolizes my life as a HeroVillain during my 20-year basketball career, as I strive to channel my fears and doubts into strength and determination. When I joined the Hublot family in 2013, it was a natural fit and I’m thrilled to share this special occasion here in Los Angeles today.”
Greg Simonian also shared “I am honored to be here tonight to celebrate the HUBLOT partnership with Kobe Bryant. From my first Lakers Game at only three years old, I have a lifetime of Memories that resonate from his mamba strength. We are thrilled to celebrate his HeroVillain story with this new timepiece.”
The Classic Fusion Kobe Bryant HeroVillain is available exclusively at Hublot’s Beverly Hills Boutique and is limited to 24 pieces, of which the brand presented a personalized #24 to Kobe himself, a reference his longtime player number on the Lakers. The piece employs a masculine ceramic design and the dial features a black snake applique, a nod to Kobe Bryant’s “Black Mamba” nickname on the court. The sapphire case-back carries a printed “KOB16” logo, and each piece is engraved with its special edition number. The piece features a self-winding moonphase movement and will be available on a black python strap with black stitching.
