Baselworld 2016: Mattioli Jewels Sparkle in Colour
Proudly handmade in Torino, Italian jewellery brand Mattioli continues their tradition for fine craftsmanship in their latest Rêve_r collection launched at this year’s Baselworld.
According to Erich Fromm, the renowned German social psychologist and psychoanalyst, “Dreams are a microscope through which we look at the hidden occurrences in our soul.” Inspired by this, Mattioli launched a revolutionary stone-setting design at Baselworld 2016. ”With this collection,” says Licia Mattioli, “I bring dreams to life.” It was during a trip to Brazil that, “I was enchanted by the gems enclosed in the raw stones of the geodes.” Mattioli brings these precious elements of nature back to reality in the brand’s new collection.
The allure of the orient, springing from a harem of precious swirls and arabesques is the inspiration behind Mattioli’s Siriana collection. An eye-catching bracelet in titanium and black diamonds and a striking ring echo visions of the East, with stylized floral designs.
Earrings in the Siriana collection, like the majority of Mattioli’s jewellery, can be personalized by combining different materials and colours, making it possible to wear them in a variety of combinations according to one’s attire or mood.
Taking inspiration from legendary abstract artists like Kandinsky, Mondrian and Calder, Mattioli’s iconic Puzzle collection cleverly play with colours. The Puzzle Gift Box features earrings in white gold and white diamonds, and comes with eleven pairs of colored mother of pearl. The set is delightfully versatile, allowing the wearer to change the color and feel of their earrings.
