Baselworld 2016: Introducing The Breguet Tradition Dame 7038
Conscious of the needs of their female collectors, Breguet has launched the Tradition Dame 7038 timepiece at Baselworld. Finally, women can enjoy a piece from the technical Tradition collection by the Swiss watchmaker, which proudly exhibits almost all the movement’s components on both sides of the mainplate. The watch case has diamonds, of course, to further win the hearts of its owners.
Is it possible to define the contours of traditional fine watchmaking? The Tradition Dame 7038 watch for ladies surely reveals the story of Breguet’s voyage into fine watchmaking under the leadership of its President & CEO Marc A. Hayek.
The mainplate features a subdial at 12 o’clock bearing hands directly driven by a central barrel. A balance-wheel and intermediate wheels form an arc stretching from 4 to 8 o’clock.
The hours and minutes are displayed on a finely-turned Tahitian mother-of-pearl dial, lending the watch a flair of elegance. Discreetly, at 10 o’clock, the retrograde seconds are engraved on the movement face.
The bezel of the Tradition Dame 7038 18-carat white gold case is set with 68 brilliant-cut diamonds, whereas the crown is set with a watch movement jewel.
It’s what you wear that counts, after all, isn’t it? At a diameter of 37mm, the watch sits elegantly on any women’s wrist.
The Tradition Dame 7038 is powered by the numbered and signed movement, calibre 505SR, which is visible through the watch’s sapphire-crystal caseback.
A beautiful, brightly coloured leather strap compliments the watch, giving the piece an even more feminine touch. The piece is also water-resistant to 30 metres.
