Jacob & Co Holds Magnificent Gala In Monaco
Jacob & Co held the 4th annual “Magnificent Timepiece & Jewel Exhibition” in Monaco last week, bringing Gatsby glamour and the roaring twenties to the city thanks to a multi-million dollar supporting cast.
Overlooking the Mediterranean bay in one of the private salons of the Hotel Hermitage, hundreds of sharply dressed guests were able to admire the 50 vitrines showcasing the brand’s latest collection of timepieces and high jewelry.
Walking in to discover a mine of diamonds, the exhibition brought together an inestimable collection of Art Déco and Red Carpet pieces, all fully paved with large diamonds. The sunflower necklace, the diamond collar, the stupefying Paraiba tourmaline ring or the diamond dress stood among the statement pieces that could not to be missed.
A dedicated space for the brand’s watch novelties showcased five vitrines housing the Epic SF24, as well as the record-breaking Billionaire watch, a fully paved timepiece set with 260 carats of GIA certified emerald-cut diamonds. Last year’s Astronomia Triple Axis Tourbillon also made a rare and welcomed re-appearance for the night.
Mr. Arabo also presented a unique watch case worth $ 2 million, securing 20 pieces at a time with an automatic open/close system swallowing the piece on the inside. Made in white gold and set with mother of pearl and diamonds, it is rumoured to weight more than 50 kilograms.
The glamorous event, filled with colored diamonds, rubies, sapphires and emeralds gave a sparkly headache to most of the ladies who dressed up for the occasion. And if that wasn’t enough to make you fall to the ground, heartthrob Chris Noth, aka Mr. Big from Sex in the City, then showed up and was happily photographed with Jacob Arabo and his wife Angela.
